You’re Not Broken

How to Feel Better with This Concept

“You’re not broken” was a new concept for me.  After all, I get lots of headaches, and this can seem as if I’m broken.  Well, this past weekend, I discovered a limiting belief program that played into the belief that I was broken.  I always knew about it, but it was ready to let go.

When I was a kid, my dad used to do acrobatic hand balancing with my sister and me.  This was fun, and we loved it.  It was probably the start of my gymnastics, which I loved, loved, loved.

My dad used to do hand balancing professionally while in college.  He and his best friend would play at county fairs and movie theaters (yes, they had pre-show acts).  Dad was the base, and his friend would be the one doing the handstand on my dad’s hands.  Dad was very skilled at it.  It was very simple compared to what is seen on America’s Got Talent today.  Wow, has talent improved!

One time when I was about three, I was up top and must have wiggled too much.  Needless to say, I didn’t stay up very long.  As I fell, my dad caught me.  All good.  Right?

Well, here comes the limiting belief.  I hurt my elbow.  To look at it, nothing was wrong.  It just hurt.  When I complained about it, my mother said: “I’ll take you to the doctor, but there better be something wrong.”  We didn’t have a lot of money, and the doctor was an unplanned expense.  So, this made sense. (There was actually something wrong.)

However, somewhere in my subconscious, I imprinted the message that in order to get or ask for help, be loved, or be valued I had better have something wrong. I could only ask if I “needed” it.  (By the way, this is a common belief for people who put others before themselves, such as caretakers.)

My headaches were happy to play into this limiting belief.  In fact, once the belief was revealed, I had a doozy of a headache as the belief was trying to hold on for dear life, thinking that it was saving me.  Luckily, Shoshi (my daughter) is a wonderful and very powerful energy healer.  As we watched a movie, I lay with my head in her lap as she put her hands on my head and released the pressure.

Now, when I go to a doctor, energy healer, massage therapist, etc. I’m changing up my internal messaging.  There doesn’t have to be anything wrong.  By focusing on what was wrong, I was actually attracting more things to be wrong.  This is totally not what I was intending.  Now, it will be something along the lines of “I’m honoring my body and giving it a tune up so that it will run optimally.”

What does this mean for you?

This is a chance to look at your own internal messaging and rewrite what you say to yourself.

  1. Look at what is playing out in your life.

  2. Examine what is working for you and what isn’t.

  3. Ask yourself, “What is it that you are saying that may be pulling what isn’t working for you toward you that you would be more than willing to let go of if you only knew what it was?”

  4. Be amazed and curious. Don’t judge what shows up. It’s just something you can play with.

  5. Switch up what you are saying so that you are in alignment with the new phrase working for you. You’ll know when you have it because you’ll feel an energetic click as if it just slid into place.

This takes practice and possibly another’s point of view may help you.  However, keep in mind, that your point of view is just as valuable as their’s.  Just because they see things one way, doesn’t negate your point of view.

Look for a way to say things that brings ease into your life.  Ease is a feeling.  And if you negate your own feelings, that isn’t ease.  In fact, it can feel like a gut punch.

Limiting beliefs can and do get in the way of what you choose to manifest. Very often, you imprint a message that is unrelated to what was actually said.

There is nothing wrong with you.  You’re not broken.  All you need to do is switch up what you are saying to yourself and how you feel about that. It’s up to each of us to clear out what doesn’t work.  It’s all a balancing act.
