Know the Dream

Is your whole life stuck as if you are wading through melted caramel? Are one or two areas of your life less than you imagine they could be? There is something you can do about it.

Enter the simple four-step It’s Possible Creation Process:

  1. Be high vibe.

  2. Imagine your dream.

  3. Ask and let go.

  4. Prepare to receive your dream.

I’ve been teaching it for a few years now, refining it and using it in many areas of my life.  However, it wasn’t until I took myself to a new coffee shop, sat outside in the cool fall breeze, sipped my iced tea, and started journaling and looking at things in a new way. I asked myself the question:  If I took a mile high view of my ideal life, what would it look and feel like? (This is the beginning of Step 2. I’m usually high vibe, so I didn’t need to do anything for Step 1.)

The answer was amazing:  Full body tingles click into place as I soar and move with ease from creation to creation with fun, laughter, and play.  I’m not usually so poetic but it just flowed out of my pen.

After sitting with it for a few days, I realized that this is exactly what I dream of having.  We want things (dream of having them) for the feelings they give us. In this instance, I went straight to the feeling, asked the Universe for it, and let it go.

I then prepared to receive the feeling.  Over the last two weeks, I took a look at everything in my life.  Did it match the feeling or not?  Could I shift things around so that it matches the feeling?  I kept asking myself if X gives me full body tingles.  It’s sort of the Marie Kondo* approach to living – only keep what you love.  What I realized is that while love is a good way to describe it, the feeling I was looking for felt a bit different for me.  It wasn’t until I could connect with the feeling that there was movement.

The process wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns.  There were some very hard decisions and choices on this road to a life that truly works for me.

During the step of preparing to receive my desire, I had lists upon lists tweezing out what my true thoughts and feelings were.  I’d talked to some people to help me process and move the energy so that I was neutral.  By the end of the first week, I was bowled over with what I’d uncovered.

My body spoke to me.  Loudly. I was asking something different from my body.  It freaked out and rebelled as it tried to get me to stay with what it knew. Sleep was funky.  My headaches were plentiful.  My mood tanked.  And I kept moving through it.  I knew what I wanted in the end was worth it.  Each day felt a little bit better than the day before.

Luckily, I had a deep dive scheduled for the end of the week.  By the time the three of us got done, I could breathe with greater ease.  It felt as if a ton of pressure had lifted from my shoulders.

The next step was to follow through.  Since this is so recent, I won’t be sharing this part until next week. That’s right. The outcome is coming. It’s still unfolding, and I’d like to present it as one cohesive unit (or at least as a week’s worth).

While the process is simple, it isn’t always comfortable.  And I know that it will be totally worth it.

So, If you took a mile high view of your ideal life, what would it look and feel like?  What would you discover?  What is it that you truly would like to have?  And is your life (or the various pieces of your life) that?  Or do things need to be different?

The place to start is by knowing what you truly want.  The rest is just details.  Just know that it is possible to get unstuck and to create a life that works for you.
